We have discussed about Type 2 Civilization who can control their home star and reengineer the solar system in any way they like. They can change the orbits of planets, asteroids and even stars. With the Dyson Sphere, they have almost limitless source of energy and have energy and technology that are our mere dreams only. For them space travel is a common mode of transportation. Now, let me explain how would a Kardashev Scale Type 3 Civilization look like and what technology they would have.
For a Type 3 civilization, they would build Dyson spheres all over the galaxies and there will be no stars left untouched by as Type 3 civilization. The entire energy available in the galaxy are all in the hands of a Type 3 civilization. They have technology that is far beyond than we can probably imagine right now. They may not be humans at all, they might become cyborgs. Their minds and thoughts may be interconnected like a blockchain of minds. Instead of being individual beings, maybe all their minds will combine and form some sort of super intelligent being like the Supreme Intelligence in Captain Marvel. They might not be humans anymore. Millions of years ago, bacteria and us have the same ancestors and we are the same. But now, we are so different that bacteria cannot even imagine what we are capable of and it is beyond their realm of understanding. That may be case if we become a Type 3 civilization.
If we become a Type 3 civilization, we need to able to hide and fight against other more advanced civilization than like Type 4, Type 5 or even Type 7 who are at the universal, multiversal and omniversal level. But let us not get ahead of ourselves, we will discuss about them later. Type 3 civilization may exist as long as the universe continue to exist. Here is the reason. A galaxy lives for billions of years and they will harness all that energy. If the galaxy dies, they may shift to another galaxy and then another if it dies so long as there is a galaxy in the universal.
There are some cosmic problems we need to become a Type 3 civilization. First and foremost, we need a way to travel faster than light or else we will never be able to conquer the whole galaxy. To travel across the galaxy just once, we will need millions of years if we travel at the speed of light. There are some proposals for faster than light travel like wormholes, Alcubierre warp drive, quantum teleportation, etc. We will also discuss these possibilities and the problems in creating them in another blogs.
One of the most dangerous problems in becoming a Type 3 civilization is that we need to be at peace at all times and never get into a fight. Fighting, quarrelling and arguing must be a thing of the past. Or we risk getting destroyed by own selves. A Type 3 civilization would consume 4×1037 watts/sec. That’s truly gigantic. It’s more than 1025 times than we currently use in a year. After they have all the energy of the galaxy under their control, they may start colonizing other galaxies and the whole universe to become a universal civilization. That’s when they will become a Type 4 civilization. We’ll discuss more on this tomorrow.
