Until now, we have covered the three types of civilization originally proposed by Nikolai Kardashev. Type 1 civilization can harness all the energy available on the home planet. Type 2 civilizations can harness all energy from the solar system and can even manipulate the orbits of planets and stars. Type 3 civilization has all the energy of the galaxy under their control and there is more to that. Now, let us leave behind our galaxy, cluster, supercluster and think of a civilization that can control everything we know exists. Everything we know includes in this – it’s the universe. Every star, galaxy, planet, etc. includes the universe. What would a civilization be like if they can control everything we see, hear, etc. and even the things we can’t see or hear.
Since the universe may be infinite or finite, the energy that such a civilization may have would be infinite or maybe finite. Even if it’s finite, the energy would be so vast and enormous that we can’t possibly comprehend it in our mind. With such an enormous amount of energy, they would be worshipped as gods in some cultures, traditions, etc. At this time, they would already master time travel. They may no longer see time in a linear motion as we see it today rather, they may see it as in a circular motion. So, time makes no sense to a Type 4 civilization as we think of time today. For a time, there is no past, present, or future. Everything is intertwined and there may be no beginning or end for them. Maybe, they can visit the future and past as if we are travelling to some other country.
And this is one of the greatest paradoxes of time travel. I mean, suppose billions of years later, if human beings become a Type 4 Civilization and they have master time travel, then they can travel back to us and communicate with us but as of now, there are no cases verified till now. So, this is a big paradox, we are going to discuss this in another blog.
Back to our civilization, this civilization has control over everything we see, hear, know, or what we have known or will know. They may be what some cultures worship as gods. They may be immortal. They can change the course of history so that things happen in the way they please. To them, a Type 3 civilization can exist only under its mercy. They can manipulate reality and have complete knowledge of an event that has happened and will happen in their universe.
If a Type 4 civilization don’t like Type 3, they can wipe out an entire Type 3 civilization in an instant. Type 1 is nothing compared to Type 2, Type 2 is nothing compared to Type 3 and Type 3 is nothing compared to Type 4. Civilizations that exist above Type 4 like Type 5, 6 or 7 are all hypothetical. We don’t yet whether a multiverse exists or not. If Type 5 Civilization exists, Type 4 Civilization is a puppet to them.
Type 5 Civilization has vast powers like manipulating realities and having complete knowledge of every event happening in all the universes. That, I will explain in my next blog.
